1999
Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world, is selected as the location for Rani Resorts' first hotel, The Stanley and Livingstone at Victoria Falls set on a 6 000 acre private wildlife reserve a stone's throw from the falls.

1999
Wanting to combine the attractions of bush and beach, Rani Resorts purchases and operates Indigo Bay Lodge, set on Mozambique's beautiful Bazaruto Island. After a major refurbishment programme, which includes the addition of a spa, the revamped Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa opens in late 2006.

2002
The iconic Arabian-styled Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa opens its doors in the ancient port town of Pemba, far northern Mozambique.

2003
Idyllic Matemo Island opens on a palm-studded island within the jewel-like Quirimbas Archipelago, northern Mozambique, close to the ancient island port of Ibo.

2004
Rani Resorts establishes the ultimate island retreat, Medjumbe Private Island, an intimate tropical idyll that guests never want to leave.

2006
The intimate Lugenda Wilderness Camp set in Mozambique's remote Niassa Game Reserve, opens to discerning travelers wishing to explore one of the last examples of an Africa wild and untamed.
