Rani Resorts has had a very rewarding 2009 with accolades aplenty.

On 11 May, the World Travel Awards Africa Ceremony took place at a star-studded event at the Durban ICC. More than 200 organisations were nominated in 75 categories for the Africa region, including airlines, airports, hotels, car hire, destinations, resorts, spas and travel agencies.

Rani Resorts scooped not just one but THREE awards at the 16th Awards Ceremony, as voted by travel agents worldwide:

• Mozambique’s Leading Hotel - Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa, Pemba
• Mozambique’s Leading Resort - Medjumbe Private Island, Quirimbas Archipelago
• Zimbabwe’s Leading Hotel - The Stanley and Livingstone at Victoria Falls

In addition, The Stanley and Livingstone at Victoria Falls retained its status as Zimbabwe’s Best Resort / Lodge for the second year running, as per the Zimbabwe Tourism Annual Tourism Awards for 2009. The hotel also came up tops for the Best Environmentally-Conscious Facility award.

Last, and by no means least, Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa on Bazaruto Island, Mozambique, was honoured in Conde Nast’s Top 10 Hotel Spas of the World in the Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean category. The Sixth Readers Spa Awards supplement came out in March 2009, where readers nominated their favourite spas in the World in 11 categories.
